Headcanons

This section of the archive is for all of the headcanons I have posted about Sir Al and his friends, as a way to make them accessible permanently (hopefully).

The headcanons are sorted between which ones are about Sir Algenon himself and which ones are about other Alton Towers characters.

Sir Algenon

  • He’s a bit scatterbrained at times. He writes a lot of things down to make it easier to remember when his train of thought is going a billion miles an hour.

  • Talks a lot when he’s nervous. He finds it easier to fill the space with words than to have to face whatever’s worrying him.

  • Saying that, he probably has a lot of nervous habits like pacing or tapping whatever he’s holding against a surface.

  • He absolutely can use a phone or laptop or what have you (and probably owns at least a phone), but the Wi-Fi at Alton Towers can be patchy at times so he primarily relies on other ways to keep track of things (writing things, owning a watch, using a map, etc).

  • Would never EVER pick a favourite coaster (and it totally isn’t Runaway Mine Train)

  • Has excellent swordsmanship. If you were to ever, for whatever reason, see Sir A fight with a sword it would be quite the sight to behold.

  • When given gifts by beings associated with the coasters (e.g. The Beornen), Sir Al actually keeps them and adds them to his personal collection.

  • Whilst Sir A is proficient in driving cars and ships and the like, he doesn't actually have a license to use any of them.

  • Sir Algenon scares people unintentionally from time to time by just. Appearing out of thin air. Of course he doesn't mean to, but he forgets not everyone expects him to just... Be there as soon as they mention needing assistance.

  • Sir Al tends to see the very best in the coasters, often describing their best attributes in careful detail when speaking to other people about them.

  • Sir A tends to sing to himself if he’s working on something alone.
  • Sir Al can change his appearance in a lot of different ways, and he takes advantage of this when he “pops up” in different situations. Of course, he does try to achieve some consistency as best as he can, but he just can’t help himself if he thinks of an interesting change to make to his appearance.

  • Sir Algenon's most listened to genres of music are Classical, Soul, and Rock and Roll. Hence why you'll hear it coming from his office or anywhere he's working.

  • Sir Algenon and his Crew all have a huge wardrobe for stage performances that gets added to over the years. It's actually a fairly impressive archive of how their styles have changed over time.

  • Sir Al is one of very few people on his crew to not be frightened by any of the magical entities/forces within the park.

  • Sir A would have probably been a theatre kid, but whether or not he actually had a childhood is very "up in the air" so-to-speak (especially with how vague he is about his past).

  • One of Sir Al's favourite flowers is the Sweet William (Dianthus Barbatus) for its vibrant pinkish red colour and connotation with Gallantry.

  • Sir Al somewhat exaggerates his formal tone of speaking when onstage or interacting with guests. While he does have a fairly regal tone to his natural voice, it's not quite as out-there as his performing voice.

  • Sir Algenon often talks to the coasters (especially when he thinks nobody's looking). There's no explicit way of telling, but one would definitely get the feeling that the coasters understand him if they were to see him talking to them.

  • Sir A can play both electric and acoustic guitar, but generally prefers acoustic. He's learned guitar iterations of a few of the ride and area themes.

  • While it is known that Sir Algenon keeps trinkets from his various adventures, he also likes to give small gifts to his friends and family of things that remind him of them.

  • Everyone gets his name wrong at least once. Most people get it wrong a number of times. There's a reason he's referred to as "Sir A", after all.

  • He is a HUGE history buff like ask him about anything and he'll probably have some kind of answer.

  • Afraid of the dark. I'm sorry but he just is I can't explain it.

  • Acts like he knows what he's doing all of the time. Actually knows what he's doing far less frequently.

  • Not great with names when getting to know someone, but he tries his best.

  • Has been chased off the lawns by the geese more than once. Much prefers the ducks.

  • Absolutely terrible for getting fixated on a project and abandoning any hope of a sleep schedule.

  • Has a nice shelf of hats and takes good care of them when they're not being worn.

  • Loves to read, both by himself and aloud to others. He'll often get super into reading "in-character" when he's reading a book out loud.

  • Writes everything in cursive. Even his on-the-spot notes are somehow joined up (although it does get slightly less legible the faster he writes)

  • Other Characters

  • All of the other characters are just as much agents of chaos as Sir Algenon, if not moreso. Did you see Charlotte with a T-shirt cannon last year? I rest my case.

  • Although she appreciates all of the crystals and their powers, Felicity feels most drawn to the Adventure crystal.

  • Both The Beornen and The businesspeople from the MOJ quite like to people watch, which is unfortunate considering how intimidating they can be.

  • Amber, Sapphire, and Micah all stay at the Towers with Sir Al, but don't get onstage as much anymore due to a slight lack of interest.

  • Out of the three siblings, Micah has the most confidence, Sapphire is the quietest, and Amber has the braincell most of the time.
